Stylist of the Month
Congratulations to our Stylist of the Month for August, Ashley! Ashley is a Stylist at our Wixom, MI, salon. We wanted to ask her a few questions about her and her time at Lady Jane’s!
LJ: Favorite part about cutting hair at LJ?
The laid-back atmosphere from the minute you walk in the door and the diverse clientele, one minute you’re servicing a doctor and then an arborist. The amount of fun to be had makes each day a great day!
LJ: Favorite sports team and why?
Walled Lake Norseman! My oldest is a varsity wrestler so we have immersed ourselves in the lifestyle. The dedication, mental and physical strength, and determination to be the best version of yourself; the absolute best energy comes from being mat-side cheering my boy on.
LJ: What type of music do you listen to?
Country with a side of hick-hop. Southern born and raised!
LJ: What hobbies do you enjoy in your free time?
Continuing my homestead journey- fishing, frogging, riding ATVs, go-karting, and being on the water. Being the only female in my family means getting down and dirty with all the boys and all 3 dogs!
LJ: Clippers or scissors?
Being formally trained as a barber, I prefer my clippers! My Oster Classics have never failed me.
LJ: What’s your favorite LJ product to use?
Fresh Beards Black Light Beard Butter- the moisture it adds to any hair type makes the comb glide through for precision cutting and shaping! Every client I’ve used it on loves the masculine scent and the benefits it provides for a soft, manageable beard.
LJ: 10-second pitch on why LJ is the only place for a guy to get a haircut...
Lady Jane’s is not just a place to stop in and get a haircut, it’s an experience. From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out you’re not just another client, you’re the main star! Tailored to fit any man’s hair needs, you’ll always leave with an amazing quality service and almost always a good laugh!
LJ: What is your motto to live by?
"Nothing worth having is easy to come by'
LJ: What made you want to be a cosmetologist?
I was never cut out to be in an office, at 13 I found myself in a salon connecting with people who I never met. No judgement, no aversions, just people who needed a pick-me-up. The feeling I get from lessening someone’s bad day isn’t something I could give up. I like to think I’m helping people by making them feel good but really it’s them people helping me!
