Stylist of the Month
Congratulations to our Stylist of the Month for April, Sydney Weaver! She's a stylist at our Royal Oak, Michigan salon. We wanted to ask her a few questions about her and her time at Lady Jane’s.
LJ: As a Wicked Awesome STYLIST, what's your favorite part about cutting hair at LJ?
SYDNEY: I love cutting hair! It's always been a love I've had, I feel that if I can help at least one person feel better, I've done a great thing, and what better way than through how they look.
LJ: Since sports are such a large part of the LJ experience, what's your favorite sports team & why?
SYDNEY: Red wings, I love hockey!
LJ: What type of music do you listen to?
SYDNEY: I like a mix. I grew up on David Bowie, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, REM, etc. And love them still, but I also enjoy a lot alternative/rock/indie, like Breaking Benjamin, Lincoln Park, Chevelle, etc.
LJ: What do you enjoy?
SYDNEY: I love working out! Lifting weights and spending time with my dog and boyfriend.
LJ: Scissor cuts or clipper cuts?
SYDNEY: I think both are important, each depending on the client and what look is sought for. I tend to do a lot of mixes with both.
LJ: What is your favorite LJ product for guys to use?
SYDNEY: Bed Head Matte Separation!
LJ: What's your 10 second pitch on why LJ is the ONLY place for a guy to get his hair cut?
SYDNEY: Our girls are talented, they have a wide variety of knowledge under their belts, each with a different style and flare and way of cutting. You can't go wrong or get a bad cut when you choose LJ.
LJ: If you had a motto to live by, what would it be and why?
SYDNEY: I actually do and it's "Hakuna Matata", "no worries". Because life is stressful and everyone has things going on but in the end if all that stuff wont matter in 5 years, it shouldn't matter for 5 minutes.
LJ: What lead you to become a cosmetologist?
SYDNEY: I first held shears when I was about 3 yrs old. I always played pretend cut my brothers hair and all my barbies... god help them. I love the creativity and art of it. And it gets to be on someome's head that walks around and loves it, what better way to express and create art and then have it shown to the world.
