Stylist of the Month
LJ: Favorite part about cutting hair at LJ?
Congratulations to our Stylist of the Month for July, Maruida Hamilton! Maruida is a stylist at our Greenwood, IN salon. We wanted to ask her a few questions about her and her time at Lady Jane’s.
LJ: Favorite part about cutting hair at LJ?
My favorite part of cutting hair at Lady Jane's is the home life balance I am given, along with the respect and appreciation I am given by my bosses. I can honestly say I’ve not had it before.
LJ: Favorite sports team and why?
I feel it's almost a crime to answer this way, but I don't follow sports at all.
LJ: What type of music do you listen to?
Mostly Tejano music.
LJ: What hobbies do you enjoy in your free time?
My hobbies are my plants, indoor and outdoor. As of late, I am raising 20 monarch caterpillars with my kids as well.
LJ: Clippers or Scissors?
I love both clippers and scissors. I don't favor one over the other.
LJ: What is your favorite LJ Product to use?
Matte Separation is my favorite product. I also love the new eye serum we have.
LJ: 10-second pitch on why LJ is the only place for a guy to get a haircut...
LJ is the only place for a guy to get a haircut because we offer so much more than a haircut.
LJ: What is your motto to live by?
As overused as it is, "everything happens for a reason."
LJ: What made you want to be a cosmetologist?
I became a cosmetologist because of a cosmetology school that came and spoke to a class I took in high school. I didn't really know what I wanted at the time. All I knew is that I loved everything artistic. I didn't know what options were out there for me. No one in my immediate family in the generation before me ever went to college, or hardly finished high school.
After they talked to us and explained the process of school and all of the requirements to finish, I fell in love with the idea. It actually gave me a lot of motivation to do better. Being a cosmetologist has been so much more than just doing hair; I learn so much from my clients and really enjoy the relationships I have built with all of them.
