While we’ve been afforded so many blessings in life, we truly believe that we have a higher purpose: to give back. We could have easily given money to already-established causes, but it wouldn’t have given us the personal interaction we desire. With this principle in mind, we created Wicked Awesome Wishes as a means of giving back, setting out to establish a charity like no other. We consider WAW an honest-to-goodness, well-intentioned, non-profit organization based on the idea that charity is supposed to support the community of people who are in need and that helps people directly. People — down-to-earth, real people — helped us build our business and our livelihood. It is those people, often blue collar Detroiters, who form the basis of all we do. That’s why we formed our charity to support any individual in need and make their wishes come true.

Visiting Angels was established as a nursing facility to provide care for senior citizens. Providing the best care possible to seniors and training for their staff is part of their philosophy. Proceeds from the event will assist with the Alzheimer's Association search to find a cure for this horrible disease.
Learn MoreThis past week, Wicked Awesome Wishes and Lady Jane’s had the privilege of meeting Scott Ploski and his family. Recently diagnosed with metastatic squamous cell carcinoma, a severe form of head and neck cancer, Scott faces a challenging road ahead.
His treatment plan is intensive, requiring radiation therapy five days a week and chemotherapy once a week.
Unfortunately, the toll of these treatments has made it difficult for him to maintain his strength, often preventing him from attending his appointments. The cancer has also caused painful sores in his mouth, leading to a loss of appetite and difficulty eating and drinking.
As the sole provider for his family, Scott's diagnosis has left them without income, adding to the stress of daily expenses and medical bills. Despite having had cancer insurance in the past, a lapse in coverage occurred when he changed jobs. Tragically, his diagnosis came just 15 days before he would have qualified for help from the new insurance.
Scott's story has deeply resonated with our Wicked Awesome Wishes family. In partnership with Lady Jane’s Haircut For Men, we are committed to providing financial support to alleviate some of the burdens facing Scott and his loved ones during this incredibly challenging time. Together, we aim to help them find some relief and hope in the midst of their struggle.
