Alicia Bunch, COO of Lady Jane's, caught up with a very excited Emily to get a good look at the incredible girl who will represent Lady Jane's in 2017:
Position & Locations: Stylist - Chesterfield, MI
AB: When did you discover that you wanted a career in the beauty industry?
EM: I have always had a passion for hair, makeup, and nails since I was a young girl, and decided I wanted to dig further into the beauty industry, and expand my skills after graduating High School.
AB: What interested you in being part of the Lady Jane's Team?
EM: I used to pass by the Lady Jane's Troy, MI location on my way to beauty school that I had attended (Michigan College of Beauty - Troy), and LJ's always caught my attention, plus I had a strong interest in cutting men's hair.
AB: So, how long have you worked at LJ?
EM: I have worked t LJ for 3 years now.
AB: Why do you think you were selected as the LJ Girl for 2017?
EM: I think that a big part of my selection is because I am passionate, and enthusiastic about being part of the LJ team of stylists, and focus on giving my 100% to my clients always!
AB: At work, you're on your feet and dealing with ll kinds of demands all day long. What is it about this place that keeps you motivated and inspired to come in and cut hair everyday?
EM: I work with such a great group of stylists and we all work se well together as a team, but can also joke around to keep things fun and exciting! I truly enjoy the relationships I've formed with my team and clients.
AB: Other than your career, what are you passionate about?
EM: One of the most important arts of my life is to maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy and getting regular exercise. The benefits of this energizes me and reinvigorates me, and provides long term health benefits.
AB: What is your favorite product to work with currently?
EM: Bed Head Manipulator Matter is my favorite, and has been for some time now. I absolutely love the fruity scent, the texture, and the hold it gives hair is perfect!
AB: What haircut are you really digging right now for the fella's?
EM: I think that a clean scissor cut with a comb over on top looks super clean, sharp, and professional.
AB: Who do you look up to as a role model?
EM: I will always look up to my dad as a role model. He is the most giving, responsible, hard-working man, and is a go-getter. As a celebrity role model, I choose NFL player Russell Wilson, who not only plays hard on the field, but gives back and donates to charities while off the field to change the lives of people. Especially those battling Cancer.
AB: Are you a sports fan?
EM: I am a huge NFL fan! I get so into the games and make a point to watch almost every one.
AB: Favorite restaurant or food?
EM: This is such a hard decision because I am a picky eater, and have so many restaurants I like, but I would have to say La Marsa Meditteranean is super delicious, or Sy Thai because I love spicy Thai food.
AB: Ideal Date?
EM: My ideal date would be going to a classy, but laid back restaurant and then walking around downtown, and stopping for dessert.
AB: What do you look for in a guy?
EM: Someone who is loyal and faithful, polite and considerate, confident and dependable, and easy-going!
AB: What are three things you cannot live without?
EM: My faith, my dad, and my phone.
AB: What is your motto/advice you live by?
EM: "Everything you've ever wanted is one step outside of your comfort zone", so follow your dreams, always believe in yourself, and never give up!
AB: Ten years from now, where will you be?
EM: In ten years, I definitely want to have a family of my own and to keep building myself and taking advantage of any great opportunities that come my way.

Emily, our new Lady Jane's girl for 2017, is the type of person that promotes what LJ is truly about. She is fun loving, easy going, sports oriented, and all around great person. Emily, originally from the Madison Height's Michigan location, has since been growing Lady Jane's in a few different markets, before finally coming back to the Chesterfield, MI Lady Jane's. Since 2013, Emily has shown what it takes to be an LJ girl, but also how to win her clients over with talent, and enthusiasm.
Emily has always had a passion for hair since she was a young girl, which only proved that she was meant to style with style. As she went to beauty school, Emily would drive past the Troy Michigan location before and after class. She saw herself one day styling men's hair, and what better place to do that then Lady Jane's Haircuts for Men.
What keeps her motivated to pursue her career is simple, but ultimately the most rewarding; a great group of stylists that she works with on a daily basis and the unbelievable relationships she has formed during her time here at Lady Jane's. When asked why she feels she was selected as the LJ Girl for 2017, Emily had this to say:

Emily has show us what it's like to be a stylist here at Lady Jane's, but there is another side of her that also shows that relationships both in her career , and family are truly important.
Emily was asked who her role model in life was, and her answer was inspiring.

She is looking towards to the future, where she sees herself having a family, building on her skills as a stylist, and taking advantage of all the great opportunities that come her way.
