2021 ROOKIE OF THE YEAR!

Alicia Bunch, COO of Lady Jane's, caught up with a very excited Alexa to get a good look at the incredible girl who will represent Lady Jane's as the 2021 Rookie of the Year.

1. When did you discover that you wanted a career in the beauty industry?
   1. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved everything to do with hair and makeup. When I was older, I started doing mine and others hair and makeup for theater and dance recitals and As i got older, my friends weddings! It always seemed like this industry was calling me!
2. What interested you in being part of the Lady Jane's Team?
   1. Lady Jane's is so different from a traditional men’s salon. It demands so much more from its hairdressers in terms of quality and ability. I’m so lucky to have been given a chance to show what I can do!
3. So, how long have you worked at LJ?
   1. I have worked at Lady Jane's for two years!
4. Why do you think you were selected as the LJ Rookie of the Year?
   1. I feel like I was chosen because of the energy and curiosity I have for hair styling. I am always looking for ways to improve and hone my craft! It was such an honor to be recognized by the company. This opportunity has been such a blessing!
5. In the salon, you’re on your feet and dealing with all kinds of challenges. What is it about LJ that motivates you?
   1. Like any job, hairstyling comes with its own unique set of challenges. I love what I do, and that’s such an important part of overcoming the daily stresses and difficulties! It’s important to keep reminding myself where I started and how far I’ve come with Lady Jane's.
6. What has been your most challenging LJ moment so far?
   1. Obviously, working with the public can be challenging. You never know what someone is going through, so I always treat people with kindness no matter how they act towards me. I always try to live by Matthew 7:12, “Do to others as you would have them do to you."
7. What has been your proudest LJ moment so far?
   1. Any time I give a client the perfect haircut and they tell me they will never go anywhere else again. Nothing better than knowing they are 100% satisfied and happy!
8. Other than your career, what are you passionate about?
   1. I am very passionate about animals. It is my goal to love, care for, protect and support as many animals as I can throughout my life!
9. What haircut are you really digging right now for the fellas?
   1. I always love a 1 fade with a little length on top. It’s such a clean, functional, fun cut and suits such a wide range of appearances.
10. Who do you look up to as a role model?
    
    1. There are so many people in my personal life I look up to, but I adore Dolly Parton!
11. Favorite restaurant/food?
    
    1. Any vegan restaurants and anything with avocado!
12. What are three things you can’t live without?
    
    1. I can’t live without my loving friends and family, my animals, and sunshine!
13. What’s your motto/advice you live by?
    
    1. Be Kind to every “kind” and remember if it’s meant to be it will.
14. Ten years from now, where will you be…
    
    1. I hope to be excelling and advancing in my hair styling career and starting my own little homestead and rescuing animals!
